Matty’s Corralled Thoughts
20 term Democrat Rep. Charles Rangel, the exalted House Ways and Means chairman, was convicted Tuesday on 11 counts of breaking ethic rules. I realize it is a misnomer to use the word ethics and Democrat in the same sentence, so please forgive my faux pas. (Or the naive thought that he would be exalted for something other than his good dancing!) The ethics panel of 8 House peers deliberated for a day before delivering the verdict. I guess it didn’t mean he could have his way with the people’s trust and money. Doesn’t Rangel know to hide his money in the freezer? I guess some Congressmen never learn. I wrote about this and other trials on the horizon some time ago, Court TV will be very busy trying to schedule time slots for of all these side shows. If all of the corrupt politicians, from the top down, were brought to justice, it would resemble the Nuremberg trials (link)…or a composite picture of the Democratic Party
Democrat albatross (with a 50 pound weight around her neck…we actually think she looks like a sparrow!) and former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi has thus far survived a coup attempt to grab her remaining power. Some Blue Dog Democrats that ran only on a platform of not re-electing Nancy to a position of power are fighting to keep her away from being House Minority leader. She took quick action by appointing some of her loyalists to new positions in the House. One appointment she was unable to make was Captain of the US taxpayer’s private jet she liked to fly her friends in around the country. Keep fighting Nancy! There are millions of Conservatives and Independents are counting on you…
A 3 alarm blaze that did over $1.1 million in damage to a San Mateo warehouse belonged to musician and environmental activist Neil Young. According to a fire official, they believe the cause of the fire was due to his Linc Volt. The Linc Volt runs on electric batteries and a bio diesel-powered generator. As America is strong armed to gear itself towards more and more of these hybrids, this is another story about how dangerous these vehicles really are. Remember, we won’t even make the batteries for these vehicles in this country due to safety reasons. Keep on rocking carbon free world….maybe Neil can borrow some of the excess power that Fortress Al Gore uses.
A spokesman for Prince Charles has announced the royal engagement of Prince William and Kate Middleton. He presented Kate the engagement ring that belong to his late mother, Princess Diana. The family jewel is an oval sapphire surrounded by many diamonds. Royal officials announced that the couple will marry in the spring or summer of next year. I would expect people from around the world to attend this event just like his parent’s wedding in 1981. My wife woke up in the early morning to watch all the pomp and circumstance on the television with her grandma. She still mentions it on occasion. I can understand her excitement. I once woke up early to watch a Ted Nugent hunting marathon on the Outdoor Channel…
Yesterday, Pop-Tart-Princess and quasi actress, Christina Aguilera, received her star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame. The former Disney Mouseketeer, age 29, celebrated star #2,432, with about 1,000 adoring fans, nine days before her first film “Burlesque” hits theaters. Christina made her name early by singing and wearing revealing risque clothes, or lack thereof, and ironically she shares her new movie another fish net fashion singing icon, 64 year old Cher. The “star” costs about $30,000 and you have to be nominated. Other so-called “stars” like Eastwood, DeNiro, Denzel Washington, Redford apparently do not rate as high because they do not have a star on the Walk of Fame. The process is about as legitimate as a Chicago Mayoral contest…wonder where Rahm Emanuel is living this week…
The current city of residence for many staffers, from the Red State Report, made international news again. Sunday, an enraged women in Lincoln, Nebraska, tried to remove her tattooed name off of her boyfriends neck with a paring knife. It is getting harder and harder to return merchandise without a receipt. Ah, to be young and feel loves keen sting by knife cut…
