Sen. Ben Nelson, You Still Don’t Get It

Senator Ben Nelson was on KFAB radio recently for a short segment interview with personalities Gary Sadlemyer and Jim Rose.  From the interview, it became apparent that Sen. Nelson still doesn’t get it.

Sen. Nelson was asked many questions and I will review those questions, his answers and why he doesn’t get it:

• Sen. Nelson was asked about his reaction to the Republican landslide on Election Day.  The response was:

“The landslide was not as bad as predicted.”

Ah, this was the biggest landslide since the 1930’s with respect to the great number of overall government seats that went Republican.  Sen. Nelson followed up with his own insights into the electorate’s mindset:

“I think the people were upset with the Procedure not Obama’s Policies.  The people were upset that the Republicans were not a part of the Procedure.”

I am sure a lot of people were upset that Republicans were not included in many of the debates over Obama’s policies.   Senator Nelson,  the reality is the people were and are upset that the Democrats shut the American people out of the Procedure.  The American people were also upset about Obama’s policies, as hard as it is for you to believe Ben.

• When asked about Obama care, a bill Ben lied to the Nebraska citizens about, he answered:

“If I wasn’t involved in the debates then we would have had single payer health care.”

Hmmm, where do I start here?   Hey Sen. Nelson, this bill has back door single payer, just wait, it’s coming.  Let’s take a trip back to your last interview on KFAB before your cave-in vote for Obama care.  At that time, you stated that, yes, you were concerned about single-payer, but you also would not vote for it if it continued to fund abortions and had increased taxes in it.  You flat out lied to us back then!  The increases in taxes keep surprising Americans and their employers and there are federal funds used for abortions.  Sen. Nelson also said

“There are no Death Panels in Obamacare.”

The panels don’t go by that name, but the rationing of life-saving drugs is already starting, remember Avastin, a last resort breast cancer drug? The FDA is taking it off the market because it cost too much!  Never mind it’s a LIFESAVER!

• Sen. Nelson was asked about the constitutionality of the Mandate within Obama care. This answer Senator Nelson gave should scare everyone.

“I don’t know if the mandate is or isn’t constitutional.”

Senator!!!  You don’t know??!!  Didn’t you take an oath to uphold the Constitution?

• Finally, here is a quote from Sen. Ben Nelson that sums up his entire political beliefs.  Sen. Nelson was asked if he was being courted to join the Republican Party (I wouldn’t vote for this idiot even if he switched parties), and he answered: “The Democrat Party has not left me, and I will not leave it.” You might ask why that is significant and here is why.  Sen. Nelson claims to be a conservative Democrat.  Ronald Reagan was once a conservative Democrat up until the early 1960’s.

When asked why he left the Democrat Party Reagan answered:

“ I didn’t leave the Democrat Party, they left me.”

The Democrats had gotten too liberal for Reagan back in the 60’s and the Party has lurched so far to the left now it can easily be called a Socialist Party.  This Democrat Party is a good fit for Sen. Ben Nelson though.

Sen. Nelson it is obvious you do not understand what the American people or Nebraskans want or feel. You can’t see beyond your liberal tinted glasses. Sen. Nelson, you just don’t get it.
